MILAN — 22 January 2026 — The Scientology Volunteer Ministers have set up their iconic Yellow Tent to Milan, offering a visible meeting point for hands-on assistance and listening support, alongside everyday “Tools for Life” that can be applied to common challenges. Previously deployed in cities including New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and Naples, the Yellow Tent is designed to let residents meet trained volunteers directly and learn straightforward methods for communication breakdowns, workplace stress and conflict resolution, as well as practical help during difficult moments.
Volunteer Ministers are local citizens trained through 19 introductory “Tools for Life” courses covering communication, relationships, study skills, workplace challenges and conflict resolution. The approach is focused on the individual: identify the issue and offer a step that can be used immediately.
In Italy, Volunteer Ministers have supported communities during major emergencies including L’Aquila (2009) and Emilia-Romagna (2012), and have also assisted during recent floods in Marche (2022) and Romagna (2023), working alongside local institutions and civil protection actors to help clear homes and public spaces.
In Milan, activity expanded during the COVID-19 period with sanitisation efforts and support for families in need. Organisers say volunteers then continued with neighbourhood support, including more than 160 consecutive Saturdays of clean-up and assistance, extending across all nine municipal areas of the city, while also contributing to solidarity efforts such as sending essential goods to Ukraine.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and the United Nations, said: “Across Europe, we see that communities become stronger when citizens feel equipped to help one another in practical ways—calmly, respectfully and without prejudice.
